Whenever I leave my computer and the screen saver comes on and eventually the

You've provided almost no information about your setup, so I can only
take guesses.

Depending on what kind of connection you have to the internet, your ISP
or perhaps your router (if you have one) may disconnect you after it
senses no activity for a specified period.

Depending on your security software arrangements, your internet
connection may disconnect whenever your monitor goes to screen saver.
Zone Alarm, for example, can be configured to do this.

Windows version? What other Power Management options have you selected
(e.g., Standby; Hibernate)? Do you have the latest firmware installed on
your router? Does the behavior persist if you connect directly to the
router? ...directly to the modem?
