I think you missed a few lines. Try starting from start. What OS, application, errors, etc.. We do not know you or your computer, so more info please.

Re: flag

Hi,

What version of IE?

If you are referring to the animated Flag logo in the upper right hand
corner of IE6 Toolbar, see this article:
"How to Restore the Animated Internet Explorer Logo"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/176713

If you are referring to IE7, you should now see an animated(spinning) blue
circle in the Address bar that indicates loading activity.

Good luck,

Donald Anadell

Re: flag

I believe it's called the 'throbber' and I wonder if there's a good
story about how it got that name...

Re: flag

LOL...thanks for the feedback Leonard, I've always been reluctant to use
that term "Throbber" in a public forum myself.

I don't know the origin of the use that term to describe the Animated Logos
in Web Browsers , I've never seen it used in any official Microsoft
articles. Seems like it's always referred to as the "Animated Logo" as
apposed to "Throbber" in any of their publications I've read over the years.

Wikipedia gives a little history on the term "Throbber" but doesn't denote
the actual origin of the use of that particular term:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throbber

"Throbber" it is,
