object tag - embedding html

with the object tag you can embed multiple kinds of multimedial stuff in a
webpage, also html. the following behaviour occures using the following
(reduced to the essential) code. it's just for IE X.

<object width="300px" height="200px" data="http://www.google.de"
type="text/html"
classid="clsid:25336920-03F9-11CF-8FD0-00AA00686F13"></object>

locally executed, the site is shown as expected. whenever the page is served
via a webserver only a white box with a scrollbar is shown. changing the
value for the 'data' attribute to an existing file on the webserver,
everything is fine again. is this a security issue? is it a bug? i only know
about a similiar behavior for IE 5.5.

Hi,

Did you try enabling "Access data sources across domains"?

Tools||Internet Options||Security(tab)||Internet(zone)||Custom
Level...||Miscellaneous

Good luck,

Donald Anadell

Thank you, this secret flag solved this problem. In my eyes the IE is not
really applicable, when options are that hidden.
