| Logitech extra mouse functions/IE7 Hello I don't want the mouse buttons on my mouse to navigate IE forwards or backwards. However, because I use those buttons for other programs, I DO want them to send the MOUSE4/MOUSE5 events. Logitech's SetPoint program is not sufficient. In SetPoint, there is a radio-selection UI element that allows you to pick which function a button does, whether it be nav forward, nav backwards, scroll up/down, or default. In SetPoint, even setting these buttons to Default still results in IE navigating forwards and backwards. This is because IE is apparently hard-coded to respond to MOUSE4 and MOUSE5 events instead of to some type of mouse-specific nav messages. I had minor success with using SetPoint to bind the buttons to obscure combinations of shift/alt/other buttons but almost invariably these keyboard combinations are used by some program and I inevitably end up activating some function that I don't want to activate. If anyone knows of a way to get IE to ignore MOUSE4 and MOUSE5 clicks, or if a developer could look into adding the ability to customize IE's response to these mouse buttons, it would be immensely helpful. Quite often I have lost very long typed-out posts for forums or whatever that are lost because of either accidentally hitting the side button on my mouse and navigating inadvertantly, or pressing the button for the function that I DO want to use it for (activating voice communication). When I am using voice comm and reading a page, I have to click somewhere else while I transmit, or I'm forced to constantly navigate backwards. Thanks for any help |
