gmail scrollbar eating up ie7 cpu load

anyone can reproduce this?

when I put or just hover mouse pointer over gmail's scrollbar, my cpu load
goes through the roof (well, at 50% anyway, but that's 100% for one of my
cores)

that's been since only couple of days ago, I think google have changed some
javascript

Better asked in Gmail/google support forums.
Or try to Restore to a three days/a week before this happened and see if it
will put you back into shape!.
Make sure your machine is clean from malware and viruses by scanning and run
disk cleanup.
HTH.

I'll ask there too, thank you; it wasn't actually meant to be a question but
a bug report, and I couldn't find where to submit it - ie7 feedback site is
closed

but it's clearly ie7 (javascript rendering?) problem, as neither firefox nor
safari exhibit that

oh, and my system (vista ultimate) is virus- and malware-free

That good if you keep your System clean, try to update your Java Engine
either Sun Java or Windows Script engine, please pay attention to your System
Specs when you download and install any of the pre-mentioned software, like,
is your Vista 32 Bit or 64-Bit System.
HTH.

I've autoupdate on everything, including java, which means I have the latest
jvm from sun - but that's irrelevant here, gmail does not use java

but thanks for your suggestions anyway; I'll be waiting to see if someone
can actually reproduce my experience

Re: gmail scrollbar eating up ie7 cpu load

Windows version?

=> Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start
IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons;

2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No add-ons).

Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode:
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/07/25/678113.aspx

=> Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)?
