Blank Favorites and History Lists in IE7

Most of the time my favorites list and History list are empty when I select
the "star" button in IE7. Usually the favorites list is available in the
organize favorites window. Has anybody else had a problem like this?

I changed my home page to be a blank page (from http://frontier.myway.com/)
and now at least when I start IE7 the Favorites and History lists are
populated. I did notice that after I've been browsing a while, I sometimes
can't expand a folder in the favorites list. Turning add-ons off sometimes
solved the original problem also!

BTW: I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium

Re: Blank Favorites and History Lists in IE7

=> Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start
IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons;

2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No add-ons).

Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode:

=> Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)?

I'm using XP SP2 and have just moved to IE7. My favorites are still
displayed, but I seem to have lost some. I also have a problem in that I
change to 'working offline' and the links that are no longer in the cache are
greyed out. Fine, but when I go back to working online, they remain greyed
out. Not really a problem as the links still work, but still visually
annoying. IE6 would instantly reinstate all favorites as available.

Re: Blank Favorites and History Lists in IE7

The behavior does persist if I start IE7 in No Add-ons mode and reset my home
page back to http://frontier.myway.com/.

I don't feel comfortable in running the Reset IE7 Settings (RIES) command.
This problem has been on my HP Laptop Pavilion dv6436nr since I bought it in
the middle of september.

I too have a blank History List, and have followed all the above
suggestions thru to resetting IE7 back to manufacturer settings and
still no history will display.
I did however create another user account, both as a regular &
administrator, and lo and behold, that add'l user account is able to
see browser history list, as well as the menu opyions, today, date,
etc.
But the original primary user account, set to administrator, cannot.
Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

TIA
