| IE7 Password / AutoFill It appears to me, by reading all of the questions about password issues, that there just might be a problem in that area with IE7. My issue is with the initial login to "login.live.msn.com". IE7 remembers and fills in my UserID, but since IE7 "upgrade" from IE6, NEVER fills in the password, even though it is supposed to by my settings. That being said, is there a solution out there? Thanks! |

| Re: IE7 Password / AutoFill Despite what the log-in page might suggest (and unlike loggin in to Messenger), Live.com ID passwords are not "remembered" by any version of IE. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.org/ Buckeye Steve wrote: > It appears to me, by reading all of the questions about password issues, > that there just might be a problem in that area with IE7. What settings are you referring to? Go to Internet Options, click on the Content tab and click the Settings button in the AutoComplete section. Is there a checkmark in the "Prompt me to save passwords" box? Click on the Advanced tab of Internet Properties and check to see if "Use Inline AutoComplete" is checked. If this does not solve the problem are you using some type of "cleaner" software that removes files, form data or passwords? Have a nice day. C.B. |

| Re: IE7 Password / AutoFill Actually, this is the URL that I am having an issue with: http://login.live.com/login.srf?lc=1...9b42cb8916ea92 If Live is the issue, then is there a way to login to MSN, for example, without using "live"?? | Re: IE7 Password / AutoFill Your Live.com ID is used to log-in to MSN, (Windows Live) Hotmail, and Windows Live/MSN Messenger now. If you log-in to Windows Live/MSN Messenger first, you can then open your browser to your MSN/Hotmail account by clicking on the icon in Notification Area without an additional sign-in. | Re: IE7 Password / AutoFill Let's look at it this way.... If I click on IE7, and it "tries" to open my home page (http://my.msn.com), I must ALWAYS enter my password in the login screen first. It WILL remember my user name, but NEVER remembers my password. IF memory serves me right, IE6 did not have this issue (I could be wrong), but "sometime" in the past Internet Explorer "remembered" my password always. If IE7 is the issue then should I go back to IE6 or is there a work-around?? P.S. PA Bear, I find your responses to unlucky souls, like myself, to be spot on and EXTREMELY helpful!
