Fresh Vista install, IE7 very slow.

I recently had to upgrade my hardware to install Vista, so I could run some
XP/Vista-only software (dual-boot system with Windows 2000 as primary OS).
The Vista installation is only three weeks old, with hardly any additional
software installed, but already IE7 has slowed down to a crawl when opening,
using favorites or closing.
I already tried temporarely removing my favorites folder, resetting IE7 to
default settings and disabeling all add-ons (MS XML DOM document and MS
Windows Mediaplayer) without result. Only when I open IE7 from the desktop
without add-ons (by rightclicking on 'start without add-ons') it is
responsive like it should.
What gives?

Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode:

You should be able to identify the Add-on(s) causing the behavior by
re-enabling them one-by-one. Usual Suspects include any Norton Add-on,
Roboform Toolbar, and older versions of other toolbars (including MSN and
Windows Live).
