IE7 Tools, Internet Options, Delete, Delete ALL

Following the above sequence, while "deleting all" - an unknown error locks
up the computer; the only out is a hard reboot. The red progress bar begins
to move from left to right .... that's the lock point. Anyone experince this
and what is the solution?
Thanks!

Windows XP Home SP2 w/all updates installed

Re: IE7 Tools, Internet Options, Delete, Delete ALL

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

2. Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)?

3. If you uninstall (a) IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6), (b)
all toolbars and (c) all third-party Windows Themes (including Window
Blinds) and do NOT reinstall IE7, does this behavior persist?

No - the havior does not persist in No Add-ons mode.

Next step ? Those that you've already outlined ?

See the link in the section of my reply that you snipped in your reply:

Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode:

You now need to determine which of the Add-ons was causing the problem:
Re-enable one Add-on & test > Rinse & repeat > ...

Tip: Start with any Norton Add-ons (if any) and any third-party toolbars
(e.g., older versions of Google/Yahoo/MSN toolbar).
