IE7 is unresponsive

Hi!

My IE7 has been unresponsive since Saturday. It takes forever for the page
to load (approx. 10-15 minutes), and when it does, it says the navigation was
cancelled. If I refresh the page, it loads, but if I try opening another
window (via a link etc), that takes forever to load, as well - just as if I
was opening IE from my desktop. Also, when I click the "X" to close a tab, it
again takes forever. I've run my virus/spyware software (Norton), did a
defrag, and cleared the history, but nothing works. It's still unresponsive
and quite aggravating.

I don't d/l music, videos, programs etc onto my computer. I use it only for
email and occassional web surfing. The only d/l's I accept are the automatic
ones I receive from Windows.

Any suggestions? I'm pretty much computer illiterate, so I'm not sure what
to do. I don't want to have to call the Dell people and be charged $60.
