JavaScript error

hi all...

i am trying to watch tv episodes on abc.com; however, i continue to get this
error message:

"The player requires a JavaScript-enabled browser.
Please adjust your browser's settings or use a browser that supports
JavaScript."

i am using IE7 and Windows XP...i believe the player that abc.com uses is
called Move Media Player.

i've browsed through some other topics re: javascript erros and tried to
click/unclick things under my internet settings, but nothing seems to work.
i don't know if thats because i'm on Windows XP or not (since most others are
on Vista). i don't see anything actually that says "enable JavaScript"...so
am i in the wrong place??

so confused.....thanks for any help in advance!

Ensure that you have "Active Scripting" enabled in the Browser for the
Internet Zone.

Tools||Internet Options||Security||Internet(Zone)||Custom
Level...||Scripting

Good luck,

Re: JavaScript error

Hi,

You might check any third party Security program you have installed and see
if it has a feature that might be blocking Scripting.

If all else fails you might try this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

Good luck,

Donald Anadell

Re: JavaScript error

Hi,

Have you met all of their requirements for viewing the Full Episodes at
ABC.com?

1. Broadband connection required.
2. You must install their "Move Media Player" plug-in.
3. "Active Scripting" must be enabled in the Browser:
Tools||Internet Options||Security||Internet(Zone)||Custom
Level...||Scripting
4. "Enable third-party browser extensions" must be enabled in the Browser:
Tools||Internet Options||Advanced||Browsing
5. The Player opens in it's own Pop Up window, make sure you don't have a
Pop Up Blocker enabled.
6. Make sure you don't have a Third-Party Security program with a "Script
Blocking" feature enabled.

If you meet the six requirements above and you are still having a problem,
you can contact ABC for technical assistance with their Player:
http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/...origin=landing

Good luck,

Donald Anadell

Re: JavaScript error

hehe...ok, so...i went through all that and did see that i needed to "Enable
third-party browser extensions" (everything else was right)...but that still
didn't make any difference!

however, i went and checked my Norton Security and found that when i
disabled "Ad Blocking", that the player now WORKS!!! *yea*. the pop up
blocker didn't make any difference, but the "Ad Blocker" did....so strange
since there arent' any ads on it really - maybe it was picking up the
commericials that they play during the shows?? i don't know...but it works
now!

so...donald - thank you so much for all your suggestions that finally led me
to a solution!!

and amy....check your security settings to see if you maybe have a pop up or
ad blocker!

i'm off to watch my shows!!!!!!!! thanks again... crystal
