| IE7 and ATT/Yahoo Since I changed my ISP to ATT/Yahoo I have not been able to access a favorite site of mine that uses navigator buttons. The buttons no longer appear on the page and when I display the page's source I get "THIS PAGE USES FRAMES, BUT YOUR BROWSER DOESN'T SUPPORT THEM" See below. I have tried uninstalling IE7 and reinstalling it and reset all default settings to no avail. From what I've read in this and other community groups it appears there maybe a compatibility problem with IE7 and other software; however, I haven't seen this particular problem being addressed. Any help would be appreciated. <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0"> <meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document"> <title>www.redhattedroadrunners.com</title> <!--mstheme--><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="_themes/profile/prof1111.css"><meta name="Microsoft Theme" content="profile 1111, default"> </head> <frameset cols="150,*"> <frame name="contents" target="main" src="left.html"> <frame name="main" src="main.html"> <noframes> <body> <p>This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them.</p> </body> </noframes> </frameset> </html> |

| Re: IE7 and ATT/Yahoo Hi, www.redhattedroadrunners.com displays OK for me with IE7. I suspect that a third-party security program is preventing the JavaScript (fphover class) buttons from displaying. Try... 1. Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone> click on "Reset all zones to default level." 2. Clear the Temporary Internet Files from Internet Options> General> Browsing History> Delete> (next screen) etc. 3. Visit the JavaScript Test Page: http://www.dcn.davis.ca.us/go/EXPLOR...avaScript.html to see if Javascript is working. 4. From IE> Tools> Manage add-ons, disable all add-ons. Visit the page. If the problems (frames & javascript) have resolved, re-enable add-ons individually until the problem returns. You will have found the troublesome add-on. More at: IEBlog Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/07/25/678113.aspx 5. Turn on the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall and disable any third-party firewall, security suite or other security programs. See if one of these programs is causing the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Checking from a 'pacbell.net' IP address (at&t Yahoo! HSI), I have only a little trouble on that site; the buttons are laggy. Checking again, with Opera 9.23, and the buttons just as laggy. I see the "This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them." notice in the View Source of Opera. I don't think that applies, though; with either MSIE 7, or Opera. The site displays in frames with both browsers. More likely, if the buttons aren't showing, you have a scripting permission issue. Ah. Disabled both Java and JavaScript in Opera. The buttons no longer load, just display "Java a..." text in the windows where those buttons should be. Frames are still working. -- Norman ~Shine, bright morning light, ~now in the air the spring is coming. ~Sweet, blowing wind, ~singing down the hills and valleys. |

| Re: IE7 and ATT/Yahoo Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I enabled an ActiveX control titled Web Browser Applet Control from Sun Microsystems and the buttons display and work as designed. "N.
