Internet Explorer has blocked ... control in an unsafe manner

Recently, Flash has stopped rendering in Internet Explorer. I go to the Adobe
site to reinstall Flash 9 and the first the information bar drops down and
says:

"This website wants to install the following add-on: 'Adobe Flash Player'
from 'Adobe Systems Incorporated'. If you trust the website and the add-on
and want to install it, click here..."

That's fine, so I click "Install ActiveX control...". The page reloads and I
am presented with a modal dialog with the title "Internet Explorer - Security
Warning", so I click "Install".

Flash appears to install, but then I get a second information bar drop down
with the following message:

"Internet Explorer has blocked this site from using an ActiveX control in an
unsafe manner"

I then try and visit other websites that contain flash and flash does not
render, I usually receive a message telling me that I need to install/upgrade
my flash player. For example, I visited www.thefwa.com and receive the
following message:

"You need to upgrade your Flash Player.
FWA requires Macromedia Flash, version 7 or greater. Please click here to
download.
Or, if you're absolutely positive you have Flash 7 or greater, click here to
force the site to load. "

Does anybody have any idea what might be causing these problems?

Thanks,
Adam

Re: Internet Explorer has blocked ... control in an unsafe manner

Hi,

You might try Manually uninstalling Flash and then Manually re-installing
Flash.

Download the following two files to your Desktop, the first file is the
Manual Flash Uninstaller, and the second file is the Manual Flash installer
file for the latest version of Flash:

Flash Uninstaller
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...ash_player.exe

Flash Installer
http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_ie

Close all instances of the Browser and any other program that might be using
the Flash Player.
Disable any third party real-time Security applications that might prevent
writing to the Registry.
Run the Uninstaller you downloaded to completely remove Flash from your
System.
Run the Installer to reinstall the latest version of Flash to your System.

Good luck,

Donald Anadell
