| Re: unable to access internet options in IE7 Hi, Is Spybot S&D installed? If so, open Spybot, Click on Mode, select Advanced. Go to Tools> IE Tweaks> uncheck "Lock IE control panel." Has another security program locked Internet Options? Possibility #2... Run REGEDIT and search for the value "NoBrowserOptions" If found, backup (export) the registry or create a System Restore point, then modify the value from 1 to 0. 322756- How to back up, edit, and restore the registry in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;322756 Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "ram" <ram@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9D4B4DA9-6391-41E0-A402-6BA49CF93A81@microsoft.com... > i have winXPhome SP2 with IE7 downloaded from MS downloads.altho initially > there were no problems recently i noted that when i want to access internet > options from the Tools menu iam denied with the following msg "This operation > has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. | Re: unable to access internet options in IE7 I did this search, found that the setting were already as suggested, so I changed "NoBrowserOptions" to "1", and "NoOpenInNewWindow" to "0". This solved my problem with getting the problem message when trying to open some links inside IE7 Browser Window. Hope this helps others too.
