| Clear IE Home Page list How do you clear the Home Page list? Under General Internet options when I begin to type in a url, it brings up a list of many urls that I have never used as a home page. I have cleared the cookies. Why do these urls come up and how do I clear this list? |

| Re: Clear IE Home Page list Hello, you have to delete the Internet Explorer History. You are using version 6, right? In the same window where you change the home page, under "History", click "Clear History". Hope this will help. Greetings, P. | Re: Clear IE Home Page list Hello, I think I did it: In the Internet Options, go to tab "Content" -> click the button "AutoComplete..." and uncheck "Forms". Click OK and Apply, and then clear History. Does that work? If not look here for more information: http://www.updatexp.com/autocomplete-ie6.html on how to disable AutoComplete completely. Hope this does the job. Greetings, P. | Re: Clear IE Home Page list Hi, These URLs you're seeing are in the index.dat file in the History folder. The index.dat file doesn't clear when the history is cleared. Try these steps: Easy method #1: CCleaner from www.ccleaner.com Check the boxes to clear History and index.dat files. Easy method #2: Free History Eraser from http://smartprotector.com/eraser/fre...ory-eraser.htm can usually delete the History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when you restart. Or the History folder can be deleted manually. The procedure [Windows XP] Login as another user with administrator privileges, or from the machine's default administrator account (startup in safe mode.) Make sure that you can see hidden and system files (Folder Options> View) then delete the affected History folder from Windows Explorer. It will be at [C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Local Settings\History] Restart the computer. 315222 - A description of the Safe Mode Boot options in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=315222 Don [MS MVP- IE] "TMcCon" <TMcCon@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:ECB30330-05CD-4F38-BA19-7BF8A2DA0541@microsoft.com... > I am using WIndows XP and IE 6.0 sp2 > "Don Varnau" wrote: > > > Hi, > > Which version of Windows? > > Which version of Internet Explorer? > > "TMcCon" <TMcCon@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > > news:94E2315F-8767-4320-A98A-1463885D9566@microsoft.com... > > > How do you clear the Home Page list?
