| Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close Since I upgraded my XP Professional from IE 6 to IE 7, I started to get (about twice a day) messages "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". As much as I could notice this happens when I go from one of my tabs to another, or when I try to open a new WEB out of my Favorites. There appears a "SEND REPORT TO MSOFT" window, but whether I send or do NOT send a report this window apears again and again. The Internet Explorer freezes and to close both of them I need to go to the Task Manager. When I open the IE anew it works normally for a while, but all my tabs are lost. A few months ago MSoft advised (on its WEB) to wait for an upgrade and NOT to try resolving this problem by himself. So I waited as my computer is set for an automatic Windows upgrade. Finally before yesterday I found on the IE WEB site a new article for this problem which advises to upgrade IE 7 to the latest SECURITY, which I did (in the Administrative account) to the point that there was a notice that NO MORE upgrades are awailable. Nevertheless, the nasty messages (and IE freezings) started to appear again (in my everyday working account, as I do not work in the administrative account). If there is a compassionate soul PLEASE HELP!!! Bolvan 08.31.07 |

| Re: Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close Hello, * does your problem still occur in no add-ons mode? Press Windows-key+R -> iexplore -extoff -> Enter . If not, then start IE normally and disable one add-on after the other by going to Tools -> Manage add-ons -> Enable or disable add-ons to see which of the add-ons is responsible for the problem. * try setting back IE's settings: Tools -> Internet Options -> tab "Advanced" -> Reset . Hope this will help. Greetings, P. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop and choose Start Without Add-ons? Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). 2. Tools | Internet Options | Advanced Scroll to the bottom and click Reset Internet Explorer Settings. 3. Malware already installed on the computer: Help with malware All MS-MVP Sites. http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm http://aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/...moving_Malware http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/darnit.html http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/Malware_Defence.htm Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827315 So How Did I Get Infected Anyway? For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you owe it to the author.
