I'm pretty sure that's the latest, but if you're not sure visit Windows
Update (Click Tools | Windows Update).

You can check the version of ieexplorer.exe which is found in Program Files/
Internet Explorer.
This by the way is the same build number as in Vista.

Created = 4 November 2004, 07:49:00
Modified = 27 June 2007, 09:27:30

BUT fire up IE7 and goto Help / About and this shows version 7.05730.11

Is this normal?????

Mine is exactly the same, with WinXP and IE7. Microsoft Update reports
no new updates available.

Hi,

You would think MS would change that GUI Help||About version number to
reflect the patched(updated) core files in IE7, but alas that is not the
case. The Version Number you see in the Help||About section(7.0.5730.11) is
in fact the Latest Version Number for IE7 on a Windows XP SP2 machine, refer
to:

Version Displayed in the GUI Help\About section:
Major Version.Minor Version.Build Number.Sub-build Number
Major Version=7.
Minor Verison=0.
Build Number=5730.
Sub-Build Number=11

This can be varified at the following Registry Key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
DWORD Value = Build
DATA Value = 75730
DWORD Value = Version
DATA Value=7.0.5730.11

However there have been changes to the core files along the way, and the
Latest Version of iexplore.exe(IE7 Executable) on a fully patch Windows XP
SP2 machine.
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
Should be Version 7.0.6000.16512

Mshtml.dll (the heart of Internet Explorer) has also been modified several
times since IE7 for Windows XP SP2 was released.
Initial Version = 7.0.5730.11
Latest Version = 7.0.6000.16525 (Applied by KB937143 Cumulative Update for
IE7)
