| Must hit Reload with every website I visit This is a recent development, I'm not sure if it was after the recent Microsoft update or Norton systemworks update or something else went wrong (spent the night with Norton engineers They say it's not them) Every time I change websites, bring up new web pages or start IE7.0.5730.11 I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" Then I hit reload and it pops right up. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You |

Thank You Norton AV is proven to be incompatible with some aspects of Vista, eg. Windows Mail and yet their engineers deny it, so I believe it would be worth checking by uninstalling it. (Avast is a very good, free, alternative.) |

| Re: Must hit Reload with every website I visit Hello, does the problem persist in no add-ons mode? To start IE without add-ons, press Windows-key+R -> iexplore -extoff -> Enter . If not, start IE normally, go to Tools -> Manage Add-ons -> Enable or disable add-ons and disable one after the other until you find the problem. Hope this will help. Greetings, P. | RE: Must hit Reload with every website I visit Thank you for your Ideas, I have learned from them. Still the same problem. I should add I am running Windows XP, Norton systemworks 2006 (no Internet security) and I tried disableing every Add on I have. I will wait a day then start uninstalling programs. thank you all again. That could be a symptom of several things, from spyware or slow proxy to slow DNS. An HTTP tracer such as FiddlerTool could help clarify what is happening. E.g. is the first request going out? does a response for it come back? Etc. Tracing with ProcMon also might explain what happens instead. E.g. if an unexpected request is sent first or if the expected first response is seen but somehow not processed. Etc. > any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Good luck Robert Aldwinckle --- |
