I installed IE 10 months ago no problem had to uninstall it now having problems reinstalling.

installation fails at the finalization stage.

I have disabled security software tried installing in safe mode all to no avail.

I am at a loss what to do next.

Judging by the error code it looks like it wants a connection (or at least the
RPC service running):

Try enabling the Windows firewall and make your boot option
