My girlfriend just installed update KB937143 on her notebook, running Vista
Home Basic. After installing the update IE7 would not open any web pages, it
acted as if it was offline. Also there was a vertical yellow line appearing
on her screen for a few seconds on computer startup. She uninstalled the
update and everything was back to normal again. Just wondering why this is
happening as she would prefer to have all the latest updates installed.

Install all critical updates. Then...

1. Uninstall all Norton software via Add/Remove Programs.

2. Enable the Windows Firewall.

3. Run this removal tool:

4. Immediately install the 30-day free trial version of, e.g., NOD32* or
KAV7**

5. Manually update your new anti-virus application then run a full system
scan.

Do your problems persist now?
