Page load problems on certain sites

Last night I started having problems with certain sites loading in both IE7
and Foxfire. Ebay, Yahoo, Microsoft and a few others fail to load
completely. Amazon works fine as do many others. The pages for the problem
sites take approx 1 min to load, yet may of the images are not loaded and
many times the pare is not formatted correctly. Sometimes the browser just
hangs with the loading message. Hitting refresh does not correct the
problem.

I am running XP Pro with SP2. All updates have been applied. Previously I
had applied several critical updats from MS. I am using a cable modem with a
router. Other machines on the network have no problems. Just this one
machine and the issue happened suddenly. Any suggestions?

In addition....I did remove and reinstall IE7 and applied all updates.
Problem still occurs.

What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop and choose Start Without
Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).

Re: Page load problems on certain sites

I ran Adaware, Spybot S&D and Norton. The new spybot foud some items and
there were some remenants of stuff in my startup and Add-ons areas. I
removed the items from the startup and any from add-ons that I was not sure
about. After rebooting the page load issue went away for that day. The next
day, same problem, but on both machines. Ran all tools again and cleaned up
the other machine. No change. The assumption then was it was my provider.
The next day all machines were back to normal. I can only assume at this
point that Cox broadband was having issues and that it has now cleared up.
