Previously having suffered in silence with IE6, after downloading the lastest
IE I am still suffering the same problem.
IE is my main browser, and whenever I start it up I am shown the message
"403 Forbidden. You were denied access..Access denied by access control list."

I have tried everything I can to sort out the problem but with no success.
Can anyone help?

In the meantime I am having use Firefox

Check the IE proxy settings - it looks like you've got it configured to use
a proxy which is refusing to allow you access.

Many thanks for your response, Frank. However, I had already seen the page
you provided the link for. Microsoft's solution got me nowhere. I shall
probably try out something else.

Phew - Just had one of these jobs and have been pulling my hair out with everything from firewall settings to win sock fixes to guided bloody help. Anyway a glaring over-sight which is worth checking is in Internet options - connections - lan settings and (assuming you are using a basic stand alone or workgroup pc) make sure the proxy -bloody- server box is without check mark!

Do you or did you have AOL installed?

I have seen this before only on computers with AOL.
