| IE Keeps shutting down Recently when i log on to IE it shuts off before i can run it. if i log on as a different user, it works fine. My login is the only one that has administrator privelages, and if i go to the control panel to create a new account it automatically shuts off as well. any ideas? i am currently running IE7 and MS XP home |

| Re: IE Keeps shutting down Hi Brian, More than likely this is being caused by an incompatible addon that you installed while using the administrator account or which you installed prior to upgrading to IE7. Try running IE7 in no Addons mode. Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Internet Explorer(no Addons) or Tools>Internet Options - Advanced tab, uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions" If an incompatible addon appears to be the cause you will have to find which one is causing the problem. Tools>Manage Addons, and selectively disable each of your installed Addons (Toolbars and Browser Helpers) In the first instance check with the publishers for any IE7 updates otherwise uninstall them (Add/Remove Programs applet) Regards. | Re: IE Keeps shutting down Hi Rob & Brian, I am having a similar problem with IE7 and I have tried running in the addons mode which works long enough to give me the error message, in regular mode I can't even get the error message. I also have msn on that computer and it will not start up either. Any other suggestions? | Re: IE Keeps shutting down Frank and Brian and Rob, I just solved my problem! My son went into add and remove programs (I never use that methode) and clicked on IE it gave a click here for support information when highlighted and low and behold I actually got on through IE. I then downloaded IE7 again reinstalled it (which at that point it automatically uninstalled IE and reinstalled) and it worked, also the MSN now works and I didn't have to do anything to it! The other alternative I was working on was downloading IE to a jumpdrive on another computer, I was then going to uninstall IE7 and reinstall from this but probably would have lost all my favorites. Hope this helps! Good luck LJ "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM" wrote: > "LJ" <LJ@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:A96287D0-5422-404D-9D2C-95ADC5B13321@microsoft.com... > > Hi Rob & Brian, > > I am having a similar problem with IE7 and I have tried running in the > > addons mode which works long enough to give me the error message, in > > regular > > mode I can't even get the error message.
