WMP at web page - can not create object I'm using the example at page http://support.microsoft.com/default...b/279022/en-us and I only getting the error "can not create object". Why is IE failing to create the object? Look that WMP is working without problems. Is there some hidden politic privacy secutiry option? Please, I need some help here! Current system is: Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2.0 WMPlayer 11.0.5721.5145 IExplorer 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr Thanks, yours, Daniel from Brazil

Re: WMP at web page - can not create object Hi Daniel, Try using the version independant Classname of WMPlayer.OCX i/o WMPlayer.OCX.7 or specify the version that is installed on your machine. Other possibilities are your Security Zone settings for ActiveX controls. Regards. Details? What did you do with that code? E.g. just using it as is, without a server, would give you some (fairly easy) security/obscurity hoops to jump through but then ultimately you would have to have something accessible using this: http://ncnetshow/station1.asx E.g. that looks like an MS internal site, so I suspect you would at least have to replace that with something more accessible. > > > Why is IE failing to create the object? The embedded control works for me (using WMP 11). ICIM I have LocalMachine_LockDown in effect: Allow active content to run in files on My Computer* (in Options, Advancded tab, Security section) is _unchecked_. ; ) HTH Robert Aldwinckle --- > Look that WMP is working without problems. > Is there some hidden politic privacy secutiry option? > > Please, I need some help here! > > > Current system is: > Windows XP 5.1.2600 > Service Pack 2.0 > WMPlayer 11.0.5721.5145 > IExplorer 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr > > Thanks, yours, Daniel > from Brazil >

Re: WMP at web page - can not create object Thanks Rob and Robert, The example is as at MS site..., but I'm using a link to some MP3/ASX file at my computer or at my web server. At the other computer (same system configuration), it works. I will try this not so easy to find option "active content run in my computer".
