| Re: Reading usenet newsgroups with IE7 Don't waste your time reading newsgroups with a web browser. If frustration is what you're into, let me introduce you to my mother-in-law. For newsgroups, use a newsreader. (Like Outlook Express, if you have XP. Or the Agent newsreader.) --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est RealFreedom wrote: > Where are "Tools" --> "Mail and News" --> "Read News" (which are on IE6) > options in IE7 to read usenet newsgroups ? > > > > > |

Removed. If you want a button to open your Mail and News app, say OE, drag the shortcut from your Desktop or Start menu to your Links directory. In order to use the shortcut in the Links directory you may need to show it as a button in your Links bar in IE. E.g. it works for me there but does not work as a menu item in Favorites. FWIW I think it is a good thing that this sort of unncessary dependency has been removed from IE. People should learn to use their OS instead. E.g. you could assign a keyboard shortcut to your Desktop icon and access your Mail and News app that way. Also, as a result of this change I became more aware that my keyboard has a button called Mail which does exactly the same thing even more conveniently. FYI Robert Aldwinckle --- |
