| Surprise ... Cookies I, too, am having some major problems with my cookies. They're set to low, but not a single website has cookies retained for it. I wiped out everything (passwords, temp files, etc), restarted the computer and that didn't work, either. It's not saving anything when I click "remember my info" (or something close to that). It's also not remembering what websites are okay for pop-up's (I had to struggle to make this thread!). It's been like this for more than a week and I'm pretty clueless as to what to do. I've disabled my firewall (both windows and 3rd party), ran a spyware check and virus check and came up with nothing. |

Some security software apparently does not really disable as well as you might expect and instead actually has to be removed to have the desired effect. Also, there are even cases then of the uninstall not working properly, so then you have to visit the web site of the company which makes it for special instructions or an improved uninstaller. | Re: Surprise ... Cookies You may have a horked (dirty; bad; flawed) install of IE7. I suggest that you.., 1. Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) per http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html 2. Uninstall all toolbars and third-party Windows Themes (including Window Blinds). 3. If the behavior does NOT persist in IE6, reinstall IE7 per http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install, and using http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.mspx as the installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update.
