| Re: internet explorer home page Hello, do a virus scan, let your antivirus program scan your running programs and do a malware scan. If you don't have any, try Ad-Aware, SpyBot or something for spyware. General information: http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/Malware_Defence.htm http://defendingyourmachine2.blogspot.com/ Which page is it? A dubious one? | Re: internet explorer home page Windows version? IE version? To what home page does it keep being reset? One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking". These include but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer, SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free and Pro). Here's something else about NAV that you may not be aware of: http://bertk.mvps.org/html/symantecdoc1.html -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin; DTS-L.org keith wrote: > I think I mght have a virus or something and I hope someone can help when > I > start my other computer instead of getting my home page it flicks to > another > page which keeps coming back no matter what i do I have tried going to > internet tools and typing in a home page but it keeps changing it back. > What > can I do? |

| Re: internet explorer home page Are you running IE6 or IE7? Is Virgin Media your ISP? Is it a broadband or dial-up subscription? Have you installed any Virgin Media software? [There might be problems on Virgin Media's end: I'm unable to open ANY virginmedia.com page right now.] Do you have any of the other applications I cited installed (e.g., Ad-Aware Pro w/Ad-Watch enabled; Spyware Blaster; Spybot w/Tea Timer enabled; Spyware Doctor; ZoneAlarm Free or Pro)? -- ~PA Bear keith wrote: > When I click on the ie icon it directs me to my google home page but it > doesn't get there it get diverted to > http//cache-removal.virginmedia.com//fwlink/?LinkId=74005 and this page > askes me to make changes.
