Security Zones locked in IE7, not IE6

Hello,

We're experiencing a strange condition where domain users with local
admin rights can't modify the security zones if IE7 is installed. Yet
the same user with the same rights can edit the zones on a system that
still has IE6.

We don't restrict zone editing via group policy. Does anyone know what
could be causing this?

Re: Security Zones locked in IE7, not IE6

Hi Geoffrey,

Are you using the latest IE7 adm files for Group Policy?

Download from

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

I can't think of what else could be the problem, though the IE5 powertoys to
Add to Restricted Zone are incompatible with IE7. Remove these tools if you
have them installed on IE7 installations and reset the browsers.

You will find the GP Newsgroup at microsoft.public.window.group_policy

Regards.
