trouble viewing some websites

Hi, there is a forum that I am trying to access (specifically at
http://lahohwa.netfirms.com/). However, using this laptop on IE 7, it shows a
white blank page. I also tried visiting this site on the desktop but it
doesn't work there either. When I tried viewing in Mozilla, same thing
happened and in the tab, it showed "(GIF Image, 1x1 pixels). This problem
also happens with other websites like www.ign.com. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

RE: trouble viewing some websites

Thanks Gistcheckin. However... when i tried the mshtml.dll file... I got the
following error:
mshtml.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found.
This file can not be registered.

What should I do then?
Thanks..

Re: trouble viewing some websites

The first URL wanted to infect my computer with a virus. I didn't bother
trying the other URL. (Kaspersky Internet Security prevented the infection.)

Re: trouble viewing some websites

Sorry, I don't know why that happened. The website works fine on other
computers but not this one.
(btw, ign is a gaming review site so I'm not trying to harm anyone..)

RE: trouble viewing some websites

I have no solution, but, companionably, I have a similar problem in that a
site I visit frequently displays incorrectly. I can see most things on the
site, but there are areas on the page where I should be able to see something
(either words or picture) as indicated by the helpful click-here hand, but
there is nothing shown. Other clickable areas of the same site show plainly.
In this case, it is 3 rows of words, each row being about 5 words long. I
can see the top row and the bottom row, but I cannot see the middle row which
is apparently in a different font than the other two. Each page of this very
large site has such a problem. Anyone have any suggestions?

Try www.lahohwa.com instead.

Re: trouble viewing some websites

Thank you very much PA Bear!!
I took away the netfirms part and it worked, whoo! So is the problem with a
security program on my computer? Because the same problems occur with
ign.com, t35.com.

Re: trouble viewing some websites

BowlofCereal,

May have a corrupt dll - Extract a fresh copy

Explanation of Regsvr32 Usage and Error Messages
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/249873

Use System File Checker
go to a Run and type in sfc /scannow
Click OK
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html

And, last but not least, you can try doing a Reset on the Browser
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737/en-us

I went to both sites you listed and had no issue with virus on my system.

Re: trouble viewing some websites

Several sites hosting malware/spyware/hijackware are themselves hosted on
ign.com and t.35.com. There's a very good chance that whatever security
applications/tools you have installed are blocking such pages, yes.
Overall, I think that's a GOOD thing.
