I have used IE7 at work for sometime on XP and I liked it and had no
problems. I purchased a new PC for the home with Vista and IE7 and had
nothing but problems. The favorites are always slow no matter what you are
doing with them, pages take forever to load or just freeze. I have a dsl
connection and have no problems with my work (xp) or home (win 2000) laptop.

If uninstalling IE7 on a new PC will IE 6 be available, since it was not
there before?

Has anyone tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE7 on Vista to get IE7 to
work properly?

Re: I Hate IE7

Hi,
You can't uninstall IE7 from Vista, nor can you install IE6. Your problems
don't sound like a case of missing or corrupted files.

Try the Reset button in Internet Options> Advanced. Note that this will
delete stored (autocomplete) passwords. Do you have those recorded
elsewhere? (Many users don't.)

The reset button will disable browser add-ons. You will have to re-enable
browser add-ons individually to see if a troublesome one shows itself.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp

923737- How to use Reset Internet Explorer Settings (RIES):
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737/en-us

The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other
security, privacy, ad-blocking programs to see if one of them is causing the
problem. Any program that interacts with Internet Explorer could be causing
this. The connection with IE may not be obvious, such as Google Desktop.

A firewall will probably not be causing this problem, but be sure to turn on
the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before disabling a
third-party firewall or security suite during testing.

Hope this helps,
Don
