| IE7 Crash on Vista Greetings all, I am running IE7 on Vista; ships with it. It has been working just fine for the last couple of months and now, all of a sudden I get an error when I run it. The error is as follows: "Runtime error! Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." I thought I would try and reinstall it, but I can't get a download. When I go to the Microsoft IE7 website, it tells me I already have it and doesn't give me a link to download it... ! ~arg~ Any recommendations? | Re: IE7 Crash on Vista I don't believe with Vista you are able to uninstall IE7. Look in Event Viewer>System for Errors or Application Popup Error. Right click and select properties which will open an Error Properties Window. You will see the Event ID # as well as a link to a support page which should advise a resolution. | Re: IE7 Crash on Vista Hello PA, If I right-click on the IE icon and chose "Run as Administrator" it works. Now, can anyone tell me how to make it run as an Administrator all the time? | Re: IE7 Crash on Vista Is a Norton or McAfee application installed? Third-party firewall? Are you saying that starting IE7 in No Add-ons mode and/or RIES didn't help? I don't think you /want/ to run as Admin 24/7, Bob. Sounds like a UAC problem to me. I suggest posting in Vista.General about the problem(s), citing your thread here. Good luck. -- ~PA Bear bob mixon wrote: > If I right-click on the IE icon and chose "Run as Administrator" it works. > Now, can anyone tell me how to make it run as an Administrator all the > time? > > Sincerely, > > Bob Mixon > Microsoft SharePoint (MOSS) MVP > http://www.BobMixon.com > >> Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?
