| Delay in Tab Switching I don't know if this is just an annoying "feature" of IE7 or if there's a problem. Probably easier to explain with an example. I have 3 tabs open A, B and C. I'm veiwing tab B which I then close. IE7 immediately displays tab C which is fine. However if when I close B, I then straight away click on tab A, there's a 1-2 second delay before it's displayed. Also if, in the same example, I'm viewing tab C, when I close it, tab B is immediately displayed....no delay. I run XP Pro SP2 fully patched, on AMD x64 4800 CPU with 2Gb ram and 2x nVidia 7900GTX cards, so I can't believe it has anything to do with system resources. I've tried turning hte pop-up blocker and anti phishing filter on and off but that made no difference. Anyone got any ideas please Malcolm |

| Re: Delay in Tab Switching 1. If you've got Yahoo Companion toolbar installed, uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs and see if the behavior persists. 2. If no joy, you may have a horked install of IE7. I suggest that you... 1. Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) per http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html 2. Uninstall all other toolbars 3. Reinstall IE7 per http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install, and using http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.mspx as the installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update. | Re: Delay in Tab Switching Assuming you uninstalled all toolbar before reinstalling... Uninstall IE7 again (per http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html), going back to IE6. Use IE6 for a few days and see if you're having any problems in that environment. If so, something else is wrong. IOW it's not IE itself. -- ~PA Bear Malcolm P wrote: > I've uninstalled and reinstalled IE7 following all the instructions and > the > problem persists.
