| Menu bar in internet application not showing all options My boss has a problem that appears to be in IE with an internet address having a menu bar, but when she looks at the options, not all of the options are visible (or allowable). She can go to my computer and all options are visible and allowable. I have checked all of the IE options that I can find, but cannot find something to resolve this issue. Is there something in IE or Windows that would limit the menu options in an internet application? I have gone to her PC and signed on as myself. Sure enough, the menu options are limited. So, something on her computer or IE is not set correctly, but I can't find it. Any suggestions?? |

| Re: Menu bar in internet application not showing all options If this web site is on the public internet, you have a question for the web site's technical support. Without knowing what version of Windows she has, what version of Internet Explorer, the URL and the particular controls involved, my guess would be that scripting has been disabled, possibly by protective software installed on the computer or by the company. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est afortn wrote: > My boss has a problem that appears to be in IE with an internet address > having a menu bar, but when she looks at the options, not all of the options > are visible (or allowable). | Re: Menu bar in internet application not showing all options We are using Windows XP. Until Thursday, she was using IE 6 SP2 (we both were). On Thursday, I upgraded both her computer and mine to IE 7. This did not solve the problem. She still cannot see all options, but I can. As it turns out, she has told me that it is not just on this one website. She has the same problem with several different websites. So, it leads me to believe there is something not right on her system, but I cannot locate any difference in the setup of her IE and mine. Is there a Windows XP setting that would limit her ability to see all menu options within an Internet application? "PA Bear" wrote: > Windows version? | Re: Menu bar in internet application not showing all options Upgrading in hopes of fixing an existing problem is seldom a good idea. Please site a few of the websites in question. -- ~PA Bear afortn wrote: > We are using Windows XP. Until Thursday, she was using IE 6 SP2 (we both > were). | Re: Menu bar in internet application not showing all options I understand about upgrading, but I was actually hoping that some setting would get reset when I installed the new version. It didn't happen, but it didn't hurt anything either. Unfortunately, the websites that seem to be causing the issue are secured websites, so even if I gave you the site address, you wouldn't be able to get through the security screens to get to the areas we are seeing. That's why it's so difficult to describe the problem and get much assistance. I was just hoping someone could point me to a setting that could be causing the problem. If there is such a setting you can think of, please let me know. Thanks!! | Re: Menu bar in internet application not showing all options Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode: 1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; 2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No add-ons).
