Back Button Retrieves Old Version

In IE7, I have noticed that the Back Button will sometimes retrieve old (not
current) version of the previous page. Example: start with current version
of CNN home page; click to look at one of the stories; back button brings up
CNN home page from several hours ago. It seems like IE7 is not set to always
get fresh content. Any solutions? Thanks. Ted

Thanks for your reply. "Every time I visit the webpage" is selected. Ted

Re: Back Button Retrieves Old Version

That's kewl.

Is an "internet accelerator" software installed? That sounds like the
culprit to me.

Re: Back Button Retrieves Old Version

I am not familiar with 'internet accelerator' software. Can you provide any
examples that might jog my memory, as I do not recall installing anything
like this. Thanks. Ted

Re: Back Button Retrieves Old Version

Numerous toolbars (including those from dial-up ISPs especially) include
such accelerators.

Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start
IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons;

2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No add-ons).

Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode:

Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)?

Hello Ted,

Try setting it to "Automatically" instead.
