| internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close have internet explorer 7 windows xp sp2. I automatically receive microsoft updates I run spybot , lava soft adware, microsoft defender. I have symantec virus and maleware protection, i run norton cleanup , norton windoctor. Short of cleaning history and temporary files(I rather not ) I've been on intenet explorer 7 about a month now. When I was on internet explore 6 I would get the same message. So I don't know if re-installing it would help. The detail message is : Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16441, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x055d2045 I have no 3rd party addons. I already resolved the above subject with sun java flash9b.ocx Can anyone resolve this unkown faulting module. | RE: internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close I searched this site for subject above and Frank MVP suggested another person to dis allow add-ons. By clicking start button; all programs; accessories;system tools\ internet explorer no-addons. I don't remember this option being on system tools before. Now when I start internet explorer my home page yahoo comes up much faster. I'm puzzled if I go to tools ; manage add-ons There are enabled add-ons there. And I thought after disabling ad-ons I would'nt be able to visit sun java flash websites. But I can ? So far no internet close . "larryfergy6" wrote: > have internet explorer 7 windows xp sp2. | RE: internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close I thought all internet windows were affected by disabling no ad-ons. Apparently no ad-ons affect only one internet window or tab. If you start another internet page your ad-ons will be there or if you had another internet page(s) open your ad-ons will be there. In fact if you try to reach this site with no ad-ons you will be told that you won't able to view or post messages because active X is disabled "larryfergy6" wrote: > have internet explorer 7 windows xp sp2.
