| Page takes an abnormaly long time to load in IE7 (vista) I have vista home premium an all the latest drivers/updates and everything works fine but one site. I have noticed a problem in www.ign.com (gaming and entertainment news site) Everything on the site works just fine EXCEPT the 'movies' section of the site. I have tried clicking on the link ontop, the side (first one under entertainment) an going in via any direct link (aka "Ironman's new suit" etc.) As we speak, I clicked on a link to it, browsed these forums for a solution, registered and posting now and it is still 'loading.' Last night, I clicked on the 'movies' section again and left it running/loading while I played an MMO. 1 hour later when I alt tabbed, the site was loaded so it does end up going to the page. I have tried deleting all the temp files and anything I can to no avail. This is the only site I have notice this problem on. I have been trying to find a way to repair IE if that would even help but I can't. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. |

Tell us about any security programs you have running. E.g. you could have this symptom if you have a local proxy running (a virus scanner might try doing that.) Also tell us if you are doing any ad blocking. E.g. the site might try to withhold content if it appears that you aren't willing to download any ads it uses to try to pay for its services. Also, use some kind of performance monitor to show whether anything is happening to that task after you click that link. E.g. Process Explorer or Task Manager could show you whether any I/O is being done by it. Etc. And in a cmd window you could find out if packet counts are changing (specifically Segments Received) with: netstat -ps tcp 5 Hint: change the 5 if you want a longer interval between reports. Press Ctrl-c to terminate the loop. | Re: Page takes an abnormaly long time to load in IE7 (vista) I do not have an anti-virus programs on this machine, I turned of the pop-up blocker, the fishing filter and I have the User Account Control turned off. The internet security settings are at the default settings. The only thing that is on is Firewall and Windows Defender. As far as using the task manager or a performance monitor and that cmd window prompt, I have no idea what I am looking at. It does say that IE is still running and I can still type in the address bar, click back etc. "Robert Aldwinckle" wrote: > Tell us about any security programs you have running. > E.g. you could have this symptom if you have a local proxy running > (a virus scanner might try doing that.)
