I had IE7 Beta (I think) and Windows ME on my laptop... I then
installed an upgrade to VISTA - Now when I load IE7, it just says
"Connecting", and then ultimately times out.

I can browse the internet just fine with Firefox...

The problem is that with IE7 being built into Vista, I cannot
uninstall it.

Any ideas?

You did not have IE7 (beta or otherwise) on a laptop running WinME.

Did you run the Vista Compatibility Wizard on the laptop before upgrading to
Vista? Did it pass?
