IE7 crashes after recent updates

I recently ran Microsoft Update and installed everything available for
XP and Office. After doing so, everytime I go to a document library in
SharePoint TeamSite and click on a document name to open it, IE
crashes. The error returned in the AppEventLog is: Faulting
application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16414, faulting module
kernel32.dll, version 5.1.2600.2945, fault address 0x00012a5b. Any
idea which update is causing this? I already tried uninstalling
"Update for Office 2007 (KB932080)", since it was associated with
MSOffice SharePoint Designer 2007, and I am running Off2K3, but that
didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?

UPDATE: I was *sort of* able to get around this issue by following the
instructions in this thread:
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...570554293efd95.
However, all that did was keep IE from crashing. I could click on an
doc name and open it in IE, but I could not edit a doc from
SharePoint. SO - I uninstalled SharePoint Designer 2007. After
rebooting, I couldn't get ANYTHING to work in SharePoint - kept
getting an error message about a Library not registered. So, I
REinstalled SharePoint Designer, and now everything is all good.
ALMOST - now i can't get http://my.msn.com to come up in IE. It times
out every time. Comes up fine in Firefox...

Good work.

Looks unrelated.

FWIW telnet 80 on that site gives me a 404 response
with the whole HTML page included anyway.

So make sure that you have _unchecked_

Show friendly HTTP error messages

(in Options, Advanced tab, Browsing section)

Good luck
