| Re: Clearing Search History Hi, You can clear search and other forms autocomplete from Internet Options> Content> Autocomplete> Settings. To clear selected (not all) autocomplete items, select the item in the drop-down autocomplete list (just put the pointer on it) and hit the Delete key. Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "Mike Dobony" <sword[at]notasarian-host.net> wrote in message news:%23LoXyiQfHHA.4128@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Is there a way to clear out my search history without clearing out the other > forms autofill? > > Mike D. |

If it's IE7 click Settings for AutoComplete. Click Clear Forms. NOTE --> This will clear ALL forms, not just Search forms. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup. | Re: Clearing Search History I am glad I found this post, I have the same issue. I tried the IE7 Help, searched on "clear search history" and got absolutely nothing related. Good old "Help". Nothing on Microsoft.com support either. Sigh, such a simple and common issue and no mention of it anywhere but here. I don't *want* to clear my form history, just the search box in the upper right. I have Google toolbar and it lets me clear its search history, but it is not tied to the search box. To delete all those entries, I have to click the box *press the down arrow key* to bring up the popup window, highlight an entry and press the delete key. Then the window closes itself! I'm not going to repeat this process a hundred times. Compare to Firefox; its search box has a dropdown that will not close itself, and you can hold down delete to quickly clear all entries. Sorry just feel the need to rant.
