My internet explorer crashes every time I start it.

I am going to write the error code from the Error Reporting Tool. (I know
Microsoft deal with blue screen crashes but i dont know about these kind of
crashes. So I ask the members of the forum to plz help me!!)

Error Signature
AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVir: 7.0.6000.16414
ModName: tegsyie.dll
ModVer. 0.0.0.0
Offset: 000123af

Umm I would write more details but I would be makeing this more difficult.
Thank you!

Re: My internet explorer crashes every time I start it.

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to
http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,
http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7,
http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30, or other appropriate forums for expert
analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

Re: My internet explorer crashes every time I start it.

Hi David,

The file where the crash occurred was caused by the tegsyie.dll. An internet
search reveals that this file has not been yet classified as malware and was
first reported on 29 March 2007, so there is not much to say whether it is a
good or evil IE addon.

First up you can disable the addon from the Manage Addons applet.
Tools>Manage Addons>Enable/Disable Addons..

Sort your list of addons by Filename by clicking on the column Heading
'Filename' (far right of the Manage Addons dialog) and disable ALL addons
that are using tegsyie.dll.

Or

Use the Add/Remove Programs Applet to completely remove the Addon from your
computer.

Or

Contact the vendor of the Addon to see if there is an upgrade for IE7.

If you know the name of this Addon and the address of the web site where you
installed it from it would be helpful if you could post that back here.

Regards.
