Error message - The connection to the server was reset

I'm using ie7 on Vista with Norton Internet Security on new laptop. When ever
I try to down load files (e.g. MS Messanger) from internet I get message
saying "The connection to the server was rest." How do I reslove this problem?

Does this behavior persist if you uninstall Norton?

Re: Error message - The connection to the server was reset

I have not un-installed Norton as it came pre-loaded and has 75days free
licence for it. But I have turned off all the functions and the problem is
still there.

RE: Error message - The connection to the server was reset

No. Beacause it came pre-loaded so if I un-install it I'll need to buy a new
one. Is the problem related to Norton?

RE: Error message - The connection to the server was reset

I had the same problem this is not caused by Norton it is more likely a
problem with a wireless router or dongle. I replaced my dongle with a lan
cable and everything worked fine . My router is a netgear and this appears to
be the cause .I have not yet found away round stopping this happening with
the dongle though. hope this helps.
