IE7 phishing filter slows web page load

I have been reading some of the posts from over the past few months about the
exetended time it takes to load web pages with IE7. I have been experiencing
the same problem and am very disgusted. It is worse than when I had dial-up
many years ago. I tried turning off the phishing filter and then experienced
connectivity problems from my ISP.

I am planning on uninstalling IE7. But I have what is probably a silly
question. If I unload IE7, do I have to reload IE6?

Thanks,

Re: IE7 phishing filter slows web page load

Hi Karen,

Although you don't say, I'm guessing that you are using XP and that you
installed IE7 on top of IE6. However, if you are using Vista, you have no
choice regarding what version of IE you use: You're stuck with IE7.

I'm still using IE6 so I have no first-hand experience. But from what I've
read in this group, my understanding is that if you uninstall IE7 via
add/remove in the Control Panel, you will revert back to IE6.

Windows version? Is the machine fully patched at Windows Update?

What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop and choose Start Without
Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).
