| Problem with Internet Explorer 7 page does not finish Could anyone advice me: the page www.ink-company.co.uk is supposed to show a picture above the text. It does show this picture in Internet Explorer 6 and on Explorer on my mobile device. Why not in no. 7? In the bottom bar it shows only "(6 items remaining) Waiting for http://www.ink-company.co.uk." Nothing happens. It does not show that there is a picture at all, the square with the red cross is not there. |

| Re: Problem with Internet Explorer 7 page does not finish Hi, I had to, with IE7, click on the Information Bar to allow the use of an ActiveX control, ietag.dll. Are you running a third-party security program that's blocking ActiveX, scripts, scripting, active content? You might try Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone> (click) Default level. Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "mark" <mark@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:92856759-F383-4802-8DE9-7112A019F33A@microsoft.com... > Could anyone advice me: the page www.ink-company.co.uk is supposed to show a > picture above the text. | Re: Problem with Internet Explorer 7 page does not finish Hi, Unfortunately this does not work. Normally a message appears in the information bar if an ActiveX control is blocked and than one can allow it. Such message does not appear. I use (standard) Mc Affee Security centre. I have not had this problem with any site so far. If you have any more suggestions, that would be great! I have just found out: on the normal page in Explorer it does not show the picture; but when choosing File -> Print Preview: the pictures shows as normal. How can that be (solved) ?? | Re: Problem with Internet Explorer 7 page does not finish Hi, Are you sure that McAfee isn't blocking the ActiveX? I would, as a test, disable McAfee from within the program or via Start> Run> (type in) msconfig> Startup tab. May or may not be relevant, is this IE7 on XP or IE7 on Vista? | Re: Problem with Internet Explorer 7 page does not finish Hi, It is IE on XP home; I have executed these suggestions and disabled all: I still cannot see it. It seems like the pic has been downloaded, otherwise how can it show in the print preview; just not on the normal website?? Interesting! Where is that coming from? Office products? >> only "(6 items remaining) Waiting for http://www.ink-company.co.uk." Were you using that link? From OE? So it showed as http://www.ink-company.co.uk/ both in the OE status bar and opened that way in the IE Address bar? View Source shows that VML is used there. Perhaps OP has that feature disabled and you have it replaced by something else? Try re-registering its .dll? E.g. Run... (press Win-R) and enter: regsvr32 vgx.dll BTW it's only found in its own directory so I'm not sure how IE finds it to use. Perhaps that's the problem--that it's *not* registered so IE can't find it? %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VGX\vgx.dll ICIM I don't have any Office products installed, only the distributable viewers. FYI Robert --- |

| Re: Problem with Internet Explorer 7 page does not finish Hi, Well, sometimes I clicked on the hyperlink http://www.ink-company.co.uk/ Sometimes I typed it in. IE7 on XP and IE7 on Vista both appear to have loaded ietag.dll (from Office) in order to display that JPG. It shows as an "Add-on currently loaded in Internet Explorer." Process Explorer shows ietag.dll as being used by iexplore.exe. RA > ICIM I don't have any Office products installed, only the distributable viewers. So you see the JPG without taking any action? | Re: Problem with Internet Explorer 7 page does not finish Hi, Sorry. [Referencing Robert's post] I don't know enough about VML / XML to know what's going wrong in IE7. IE7 on XP and IE7 on Vista both appear to have loaded ietag.dll (from Office) in order to display that JPG. Do you have Office installed? The moral of this story is probably that you shouldn't use MS Word to create webpages. ;-) Don [MS MVP- IE] "mark" <mark@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1C6EE7B4-6AF5-478E-88C8-6798A53E5DB2@microsoft.com... > Hi, > It is IE on XP home; I have executed these suggestions and disabled all: I > still cannot see it. It looks fine. FWIW I just loaded it again, offline, after copying and pasting the above link. TIF Viewer (Alt-T,O,Alt-S,V) shows three files are loaded then: ink-company.co[1] CAFJHCLF.HTM image001[1].jpg I suspect the second one could be a difference for non-Office users: ?CodeDownloadErrorLog!name={38481807-CA0E-42D2-BF39-B33AF135CC4D} ProcMon (FileMon) shows, after the ink-company.co[1] was loaded, in order of first occurrence: mshtml mlang ieframe url vgx atl shlwapi shdocvw wininet were fetched. Then I think that second mystery file was looked for (but not by either name that I show above) and rsaenh is loaded. CAKHUD9U.HTM got a NAME NOT FOUND (more Office differences perhaps?) Scratch that; it was setting up a WRITE. Two writes. Then the .jpg. The second file written is still there. It's a diagnostic log! Who knew? <eg> <copy length="843"> <html><pre> *** Code Download Log entry (03 Apr 2007 @ 07:59:46) *** Code Download Error: (hr = 800c0008) (null) Operation failed. At one time it would have been 879, so I suspect it was just another diagnostic too. I haven't bothered trying to figure out exactly when it would have been zeroed. FYI Robert --- |
