Personalized Favorites

I'm using IE7 and running Windows Vista Home Premium. I have the "Enable
Personalized Favorites" box checked on the Advanced tab of Internet Options,
but when I open the Favorites menu it shows my entire list of favorites.
What do I need to do to fix this problem?

Thanks,
48wlm3661

Re: Personalized Favorites

I don't have an answer since I have the same problem on both Vista and XP
home and I have 2 questions 4 U.
1. How many days has it been since you turned on Personalized Favorites? I
understand that it can take up to a week to take effect.
2. Do you have MS Office 2003 installed on your sytem?

Re: Personalized Favorites

It's been at least a week since selecting personalized favorites and I'm
running Office 2007.

Wait for what? Does it take a while to activate?

Sure. How do you think should it work? It needs to know which Favorites
you use and which not. If it started immediately it couldn't show you
*any* Favorites since you didn't use any between that point in time and
the activation time - right? Most people have this off since it doesn't
really help in most cases. It's the same as with the "short" menus in
programs, it doesn't really work for most people.

Re: Personalized Favorites

Okay, that's a bit different than IE6. It was like your example of not
showing anything at first and then building the list as you used shortcuts.

Thanks for the input. . .

I do think there is a fault here somewhere. I've been waiting now for over
three weeks!

Re: Personalized Favorites

There definitly is I have had the problem since last summer only in
favorites and on 3 different systems using both XP home and Vista two of
which are brand new. None of the suggestions have helped. I don't know if
any of the MVPs have reported this problem to Redmond and if they have I
would sure like to know what Redmonds response is.

Re: Personalized Favorites

I reported this problem to MS support months ago. I was told there has not
been sufficient complaints to cause MS to explore and correct the problem.

And complaints made here don't count. Only those made by phone to MS
Customer Service.

Re: Personalized Favorites

Exactly. MS support was nice enough to tell me they could not help after
about 1 1/2 hours on the phone.

Re: Personalized Favorites

It is certainly a shame that those of you who are MVPs can not report
programs that you know exist and that your reliy on us poor users to do
your job for you..
