IE Back Button problem

I am using IE 7. When browsing I find that there are many pages that load
but on which the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
appears in areas where ads are probably meant to be, like at the top or on
the right, or both. (Ads appear on some pages, but the "cannot display"
message appears on others.) When this happens, I cannot return to the
previous page with just one click on my back button. Instead, I must click
once for every one of these "cannot display" messages before I return to the
previous page, sometimes 3 or 4 clicks before I can get back just one page.
Is there anyone that knows how I can change my settings to overcome this VERY
annoying Back button problem? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: IE Back Button problem

Silj....this seems to apply, but I have manually added a couple of the guilty
servers to the Security Zone with no apparent effect. Is there really no way
to automate this? Or is there a setting somewhere in my settings that's
causing it? I can't imagine that everyone using IE7 suffers with this
problem. Please let me know.

OK. I usually look for OP message(s) to be quoted in replies but this
seemed to be missing in your last reply.

You are correct, I wiped the OP quote since I simply wanted to advise that
the problem was/is awaiting an MVP reply.

There is nothing wrong with adding sites to the Restricted Zone.
Re-set IE to default settings in all zones and report back your findings.
Please also, list what security software you are running, if any.

Thanks for your patience.
