IE7 not responding

I use XP home. i have tried everything I could find to fix this problem. IE7
will open but it doesn't respond. When I close it the message box comes up
telling me it isn't responding. This is the site it is trying to open,
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=74005
I have tried several different sites with the same response. I am sure there
is a conflict with another program or file but I'll be darned if I can figure
it out.
HELP! I have been trying to solve this since March 13.
Thank you

Re: IE7 not responding (sparkles)

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

2. Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)?

3. If you uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6), does this
behavior persist?
