Looks like a firewall blocking an unauthorized outbound connection? Hint: note that a recent security update provided a new version of iexplore.exe. Perhaps you need to do whatever you need to do to reauthorize iexplore.exe as the updated module? --- |

| RE: IE7 not responding There are many posting on this web site describing the same problem you have but have a different subject (e.g., ie7 preloaded with Vista). I have the same problem that you have described but can get no permanent solution. I have three user accounts on my new PC: Administrator, #1 (also an Administrator), and #2. > Internet Explorer on the Administrator's account works fine. > Internet Explorer for users #1 and #2 accounts does not work. I can get Internet Explorer to work once for users #1 and #2 by going to Start, Control Panel, Internet Options, Advanced, and press the Reset button. After doing the reset, I can open Internet Explorer once. The next time I try to open it, Internet Explorer does not work and I have to go through the reset routine. I have switched to Firefox and can access the internet with no problem. Another problem I have found is I an unable to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader 8. When I try to do this, the download works, but when I try to run and install it, I get an error message that says the Temp folder is full or inaccessible. The install stops. | Re: IE7 not responding Hi, Regarding IE7 and your user accounts... Check for an incompatible browser add-on. See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp for troubleshooting information. An add-on may be able to run in the admin account- unable to run in the others. Installing the latest version of the troublesome add-on may resolve this, or the add on may not yet be compatible with IE7. The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other security, privacy, ad-blocking programs to see if one of them is causing the problem. Any program that interacts with Internet Explorer could be causing this. The connection with IE may not be obvious, such as Google Desktop. .. A firewall will probably not be causing this problem, but turn on the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before disabling a third-party firewall or security suite. - - - - Adobe Reader 8... This program will not install if UAC is disabled (sort of counterintuitive, isn't it?) Go to Control Panel> User Accounts and make sure that User Account Control is enabled/on. Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "MisterEd" <MisterEd[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:251131FA-4266-4046-88E1-0F98A844A6B6@microsoft.com... > There are many posting on this web site describing the same problem you have > but have a different subject (e.g., ie7 preloaded with Vista).
