| IE7 very slow, not working properly I have a new Gateway desktop with Windows Vista and EI7 installed. IE7 was always a bit slow so I did a dsl speed test and when compared to a dsl speed test on Firefox, Firefox was about 3 times faster. When I click to open Internet Explorer it takes about 20 seconds!! before the window even opens up. I don't have any add-ons. If I run IE7 as administrator it opens up real quick and fast like it should but then it doesn't work properly, some buttons on other websites don't work (example...in yahoo mail, the delete button wouldn't work, but it worked fine with Firefox). Also, when I click on a button in Windows that will open a website, an error message will pop up saying "there is a problem with Internet Explorer and it needs to close". It searches for a solution to the problem but of course it doesn't find anything. Anyone else have these same problems or any info to make it work properly? In the mean time I'm sticking with Firefox. Thanks |

| RE: IE7 very slow, not working properly I have a few of these same issues that don't exist with firefox. I also don't have the hours and hours of troubleshooting required that seem to have been invested by other posters, based on the "helpful" responses of the microsoft support staff. I just need IE 7 Fixed. |

Thanks What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop and choose Start Without Add-ons? Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup. When I go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) it won't open explorer. It just gives an error message that says "Internet Explorer has stopped working....A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". No solution is found. This happens when I click other links within Windows Vista that are supposed to open Internet Explorer. |
