failed installation of IE7

The installation of IE7 fails with an error message stating that the
installation cannot proceed using the present account, and states that I
should continue using the account IE7 beta was installed under. The problem
is that the account is correct. As far as I can figure out, the problem seems
to be that the uninstall temp files for IE6 have been cleaned from the
computer. I have looked into the posts on what to do if the installation
fails, and none have them have worked. Is there a way around this? At this
point I can neither remove IE7beta or install on top of it.

Re: failed installation of IE7

Do you use a Registry Cleaner that removes "unneeded" uninstall files?

No, I don't, just window washer. I tried the procedure to add the reg key
"InstalledByUser" and still got the same message about need to install from
the same account.

Re: failed installation of IE7

See if you find any joy in any of the following references (but it sounds
like a format & reinstall's in your future). You /should/ be able to
upgrade to IE7 final over the beta build but in your case perhaps it'd be
best to try to get the latter uninstalled first.
