Menu toolbar disappeared and can not be put back

I have a problem with my IE7. First there is only the "e" sign on top in the
blue topline, no mention at all is made of Internet Explorer 7.
Then my standard toolbar "File, Edit, View, etc." is not visible.
Pointing with my mouse on a part of the screen where this toolbar normally
is placed, there is no function with the rightclick of the mouse.
I have Google toolbar and Yahoo, and I deleted them. It did not make a change.
After system restore these came back.
How can I reset my standard toolbar, because also I can not change my
settings now. All Active-X checks and downloading of files are switched off.
Also reinstalling of IE7 was not possible. After restarting I recieved a
message that the reinstall-exe was not found in the Temp directory and then
IE7 did not work at all.
Restore set everything back, except for the Menu Toolbar.
Who can help me out?
Greetings,
Roel

RE: Menu toolbar disappeared and can not be put back

Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab
Click on Restore Advanced Settings
Click OK

Now see if the right click menu appears. If so, check menu bar so
File>Edit>View>Tools>Help shows permanently or you can try pressing Alt
which will make it appear for a few seconds. It will then recede to the hide
state.

RE: Menu toolbar disappeared and can not be put back

I do not have any of the common buttons (file, edit, view, etc.). So also no
Tools.

Also right click on the desktop on Internet Explorer icon does not give me
the settings screen of IE. I do have two other options (OpenHomepage,
Noaddons).
I do not know where these come from (Google tools and Yahoo)?

RE: Menu toolbar disappeared and can not be put back

Do you have the cog icon on the right of the toolbar? If you click on that,
you'll find tools>internet options in order to Reset toolbar.

As for Open Homepage, that is the opening page when you launch IE and Start
Without Add-Ons is another new feature of IE7.

To remove the Yahoo and google toolbars, you need to go to Start>Control
Panel and double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. Once the list
propogates, look for and remove those two applications from there. When you
download, some software such as Acrobat Reader, it lists additional software
items that will be installed but there is the option to uncheck to prevent
the installation of unwanted software. Watch for this when downloading any
software application.

While in Control Panel, uninstall IE7 if you're using Windows XP. You will
automatically roll back to IE6. Then go to the following link, download and
install IE7.

IE Menu Bar Disappeared

I had the same problem this morning on a Vista-PC, and finally....found this. If I see one more "expert" say "God, just go to tools and select menu," I'll throw up.

Try this:
To resolve this problem, edit the registry to remove the corrupt value(s).

Close all open Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer windows. Start the Registry Editor (Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT.EXE).

Go to the following Registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

In the right pane, locate the WebBrowser sub-key and open it. In the right pane, locate the ITBarLayout value. Right click this value and select Delete.

Quit Registry Editor.

Open the affected program (Internet Explorer) and verify that you're Menu bar/Toolbar has been restored. If not, close all open Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer Windows and repeat the above step. Then locate the ShellBrowser sub-key, open it and delete the ITBarLayout value there.
